Job Summary
The Commercial Janitorial Team Member is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in commercial facilities such as offices, restrooms, breakrooms, lobbies, and common areas. This role ensures that all areas are clean, safe, and presentable for clients, tenants, and the public, while following proper procedures and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean all floor surfaces (including carpet and hard floors)
· Empty trash and recycling bins; replace liners
· Clean, disinfect and stock restrooms
· Dust and wipe down surfaces, furniture, fixtures, and equipment
· Follow procedures for the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
· Report maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor promptly
· Follow all site-specific procedures and security protocols
· Comply with OSHA standards and company safety policies
· Use and maintain equipment such as vacuum cleaners, buffers, and auto scrubbers
Position Requirements
Education & Experience:
· Prior janitorial or commercial cleaning experience (preferred but not required)
Skills & Qualifications:
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Good attention to detail and time management
· Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines
· Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and PPE usage
· Strong work ethic and reliability
· Must be able to pass a background check
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
· Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
· Perform repetitive tasks in varying environments (e.g., office, restroom, industrial)
Work Environment
Indoor commercial buildings such as office spaces, medical facilities, schools, or industrial sites
May be exposed to cleaning chemicals, noise, and waste materials
Personal protective equipment (PPE) required as needed
