Job Summary

The Commercial Janitorial Flooring Division Crew Member is responsible for performing specialized floor care services across various types of flooring, including tile, carpet, concrete, and resilient surfaces. This team member works within a dedicated flooring crew to ensure floors are clean, polished, and maintained according to client expectations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

·       Perform floor care services such as stripping, waxing, buffing, scrubbing, and sealing hard surfaces

·       Operate and maintain floor care equipment including auto scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, and extractors

·       Perform carpet care including hot water extraction and spot removal

·       Follow safety protocols for chemical usage and equipment handling

·       Assist with project setup, including moving furniture and preparing areas for service

·       Complete floor care tasks according to schedules and work orders

·       Ensure floors are left safe and clean, with appropriate signage during service

·       Report damaged floors, safety hazards, or maintenance needs to supervisor

·       Travel to various job sites as required

Position Requirements

Education & Experience:

·       Experience in commercial floor care or janitorial services (preferred)

Skills & Qualifications:

·       Reliability

·       Working knowledge of floor types and appropriate cleaning methods

·       Ability to operate commercial floor care equipment

·       Attention to detail and commitment to quality

·       Strong team player with the ability to follow directions

·       Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance

·       Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to job sites as needed

·       Must pass background check and drug screening

Physical Requirements:

·       Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and lift for extended periods

·       Lift and move up to 50 pounds

·       Operate heavy machinery and perform physical tasks in various environments

Work Environment

Commercial buildings, schools, hospitals, warehouses, or industrial environments
Exposure to floor care chemicals, dust, noise, and wet/slippery surfaces
Personal protective equipment (PPE) required
Work may be performed during off-hours or weekends depending on client needs
