COVID-19 Office Cleaning

COVID-19 Office Cleaning Tips

Unlike construction clean up services, COVID-19 office cleaning requires more close attention to detail. The spread of the virus has caused many businesses to revisit their current cleaning and sanitation plans. Read on for some helpful COVID-19 office cleaning tips, so you can make sure that your workspace is safe for everyone. Start by using cleaning products that contain soap or detergent to help reduce germs. These products remove contaminants while decreasing the risk of spreading infection via various surfaces in the office. Cleaning once per day should be enough to make sure that the virus is removed from surfaces while maintaining a safe facility. Look for products found on the EPA’s approved list of disinfectants to help make sure you’re killing any remaining germs. This will help to further reduce the risk of infection. While construction clean up services typically involve areas with few people, COVID-19 office cleanup is usually done in areas with high foot traffic or where large numbers of people work.
Always pay special attention to areas of your office that are poorly ventilated. You should also disinfect areas where there is no access to hand sanitizer or where handwashing is difficult to achieve. For areas where people are at increased risk of severe illness due to COVID-19, you’ll want to make sure that disinfecting procedures are put into place and followed daily. If someone in your work area gets sick, make sure that you clean and disinfect the space within 24 hours. Make sure that you’re giving close attention to high-touch surfaces throughout the building and clean them at least once per day or more often. Some examples of these items include door handles, pens and pencils, computer keyboards, office chairs, countertops in the break room, appliance handles, light switches, stair rails, telephones and headsets, faucets, toilets, and elevator buttons. Also, clean and sanitize each desk or ask your employees to do so before leaving for the day.
